Advisor Assistant

Basecamp Financial Planners, a private wealth advisory practice of Ameriprise Financial Services, is adding an Advisor Assistant to the team. The person in this role will support one of the three client-facing advisors in our practice. 

This is a full-time, office-based position. Working hours follow our office hours (M-Th 8 AM – 5 PM, Fr 8 AM – 3 PM) except in the event the advisor is meeting with clients after 5 PM. The assistant would be expected to manage their schedule to accommodate these meetings, typically on an average of 2-3 times per month. 

Candidates are not required to have licenses and securities registrations upon joining the team, but may be encouraged to pursue their SIE, Series 7, Series 66, Resident State Life and Health insurance licenses within 6-12 months of joining the practice.

Candidates will undergo fingerprinting and a background check once a job offer has been made. The offer is contingent upon the results of the background check and fingerprinting process.

Salary: starting at $20/hour, depending on experience, qualifications, and/or licenses held

Primary Job Responsibilities

  • Manage work schedule to accommodate advisor’s client meetings scheduled outside of office hours as needed
  • Manage advisor’s emails and phone messages
  • Meeting prep for advisor’s client meetings
  • Sit in on client meetings, take notes, and work with team to ensure timely completion of follow-up tasks
  • Prepare and deliver meeting summary letters
  • Manage financial planning relationship for advisor’s clients, including preparation of financial planning recommendations
  • Insurance quotes and reprojections for advisor’s clients
  • Assist team with client service: answering phone calls, greeting clients, scheduling appointments
  • Some travel may be expected

Education

  • Bachelor’s degree or higher

Licenses (preferred)

  • SIE, Series 7, Series 66, Resident State Life and Health insurance licenses
