Full-Time Police Dispatcher
The City of Oberlin Police Department is accepting applications for a Full-Time Police Dispatcher. The Police Dispatcher is responsible for answering all incoming emergency and non-emergency calls, providing accurate and timely information to police officers, operating and controlling equipment to dispatch officers and other appropriate personnel as needed. The Police Dispatcher is the preliminary contact to the public, greets visitors, responds to inquiries, types, files, and provides other administrative duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications: High school diploma or equivalent required, type at a rate of 40 words per minute, excellent oral and written communication skills required. Must be able to pass all pre-employment tests including any medical, background investigation, psychological exam, CVSA exam, and pre-employment drug test prior to hire. Must have telephone as primary means of contact. Must be able and willing to work any shift and special assignment including nights, weekends and holidays. The position requires a valid state of Ohio driver's license.
Starting Pay Rate: $26.50 - $31.05/Hour D.O.Q.
