Display and Signage Project Manager

Join the Como Park Zoo and Conservatory as a Project Manager to lead the creation of engaging interpretive and educational signs and displays that inspire empathy, curiosity, and conservation. 

Work Schedule: This is a grant-funded, 13-month, full-time position with benefits. 
Monday–Friday, 9:00 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. Occasional weekend or evening hours may be required for special events or installation work.

Here’s what you can expect to do:

Lead the planning and execution of interpretive signage and display projects from concept through installation.

Develop written and visual content for public education, focusing on animal welfare, conservation, and engagement.

Collaborate cross-departmentally with animal care, education, and design teams to ensure content accuracy and accessibility.

Oversee timelines, design and print coordination, and physical installation of displays and signage.

Ensure that projects reflect Como’s mission and incorporate principles of animal education and wellbeing.

Position Requirements:

  • Five years of experience in interpretive signage or educational content for zoos, museums, or parks; writing curriculum or other public education materials; and designing interactive or educational written content, managing cross-functional projects, communicating in written or other multi media, or equivalent experience.
  • Degrees in a field such as Zoology, Biology, Environmental Education, General or Science Education, Graphic Design, Exhibit Design, Visual Communications, Communications, Journalism, English, Museum Studies, or a related field may be substituted for work experience as follows:
    • Associate Degree - 2 years
    • Bachelor’s Degree - 4 years
  • Must possess and maintain a valid Minnesota Class D Driver's License or equivalent out-of-state driver's license.
