Paid Accounting Internship - Aug 2025 to Winter 2026 (approx 18 months)

Executive Summary:

Run the accounting and back office for a professional services consulting firm headquartered in the Chicago Loop. Work will be in office.

Term: Approx. 18 months. Can start as soon as possible. Ends Fall/Winter 2026. Weekly schedule flexible around school schedule.

Pay: $25/hr for in-office work in first year, $30/hr thereafter. Opportunities for higher pay exist in the future.

Requirements: Students finishing degree in 2026 or 2027, GPA 3.5+

For over 25 years, we have helped companies develop and execute business management and information systems strategies. We have a flat organizational structure and a focus on superior quality and service delivery. Our culture is entrepreneurial, highly communicative and results-oriented. Over the past several years we have expanded our operations and business investments. As a result of these exciting opportunities, we are now in need of an accounting intern to handle financial and accounting tasks for our organization.

We are looking for a detail-oriented person who understands finance and accounting and can execute bookkeeping/accounting tasks.

The individual should be taking or have taken multiple accounting classes and preferably be an accounting major. High GPA and/or Honors required.

The individual we hire will handle finance and accounting functions for the organization. This person must be a self starter who can understand accounting systems and execute business processes. His/her responsibilities will include, but are not limited to: 

  • Processing customer invoicing and managing Accounts Receivable
  • Entering Vendor invoices and managing Accounts Payable
  • Reconciling bank statements and other balance sheet accounts
  • Processing payroll and understanding payroll reports
  • Determining ways to improve current processes
  • Implementing new processes in an efficient manner

Regarding training, individual will shadow an expert in these areas for several months to learn how to do this stuff. Individual will also train the next intern towards the end of the internship.
