Position Description: Development and Marketing Intern

Job Class: 20 hours/week. One day a week in person required. 

Reporting: Manager of Marketing and Communications


 

About Chicago Hope Academy (Hope):

Located on the West Side of Chicago, Hope’s mission is to be a Christian life preparatory high school in a welcoming environment that empowers students to achieve their full potential. Serving 290 students annually, Hope  accomplishes this through 1) academic excellence (including an academic core with a full suite of course offerings, including a Trades Pathway, 6 AP courses, and a 4-year Bible class requirement), 2) athletic competition (via 14 varsity teams for men and women), and 3) spiritual formation (via daily discipleship groups, weekly chapels, and monthly service opportunities). Primary duties may include, but are not limited to:

  • Collaborate with the Marketing and Communications Manager to plan out the year’s social media content consistent with Hope’s brand and pillars. 
  • Develop compelling, cause-related social media posts for Facebook, LinkedIn, and Instagram. 
  • Design promotional materials as requested. 
  • Monitor social media engagement and suggest content ideas based on trends.
  • Maintain brand consistency across all visual and written content.
  • Organize digital assets and assist with general marketing tasks as needed.
  • Maintain the school’s website presence with regular updates. 
  • Fulfill administrative tasks to help with donor stewardship. 
  • Work from Home once a week. Attend and photograph events as-needed. 


 

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently on assigned projects, while prioritizing tasks to meet deadlines.
  • Experience with Google Suite and Canva. Experience with Adobe Creative Suite and Wix is a plus. 
  • Competency in graphic design, website management, and video editing, a plus.
