Internship Opportunity: Real Estate Development – Food Hall Project

Location: Downtown Edinburg, TX
Duration: Fall 2025 Semester / 3-6 Months
Compensation: $12/hour, 10-15 hours per week, opportunity for bonus/incentives

We are a real estate development firm currently transforming a prime commercial property in downtown Edinburg into a vibrant Food Hall. Located just steps away from the Hidalgo County Courthouse and minutes from UTRGV, this project will bring together unique dining concepts, community gathering spaces, and local entrepreneurial talent.

Position Overview
We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Real Estate Development Intern to gain hands-on experience in the end-to-end process of developing a commercial property. This is a unique opportunity for a student to be directly involved in every stage of the Food Hall project—from initial inspection to tenant curation—while working closely with the property owner and project team.

Key Learning Opportunities & Responsibilities

• Commercial Property Inspection: Assist in and observe the process of inspecting and evaluating an existing commercial building for redevelopment.
• Design & Finish-Out Selection: Collaborate with the owner in reviewing and selecting architectural, design, and finish-out options that align with the project’s vision.
• Financial Modeling & Bank Financing: Participate in preparing financial projections and supporting documentation for securing bank financing.
• Construction Oversight: Gain exposure to construction project management, including timelines, contractor coordination, and quality control.
• Tenant Mix Strategy: Research, identify, and help develop a tenant mix that fits the demographic needs of downtown Edinburg and the UTRGV student community.
• Community Feedback: Provide creative input and feedback on design, tenant selection, and marketing strategies to ensure the project serves the area’s needs.

Preferred Qualifications

• Currently enrolled in a degree program in Real Estate, Business, Finance, Architecture, Construction Management, Urban Planning, Marketing, or related field.
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Solution-oriented mindset with the ability to think critically and creatively.
• Comfortable working in a fast-paced, evolving project environment.
• Excellent communication skills and openness to collaboration.
• Interest in commercial real estate, development, and community-focused projects.
