Paralegal / Legal Assistant – Elder Law & Estate Planning
Belmont, MA – In-Office, 4 Days/Week
About the Role:
Join our small, client-focused elder law and estate planning firm, where you’ll gain hands-on experience in real legal work while helping seniors and their families. This role is ideal for someone organized, detail-oriented, and looking for a stable, long-term position.
What You’ll Do:
Help prepare MassHealth (Medicaid) applications, organize financial documents, and draft letters.
Assist with estate planning, including preparing documents, witnessing signings, and recording deeds.
Work on probate and guardianship cases: complete court forms, prepare accountings, and occasionally file paperwork at the courthouse.
Provide office support: scanning, copying, organizing files, processing mail, and improving workflows.
What We’re Looking For:
Organized, reliable, and professional with a positive attitude.
Comfortable working with an older population.
Strong writing and organizational skills; bookkeeping a plus.
Prior legal experience helpful, but we’re willing to train the right person.
Willing to commit to at least 3 years in the role.
Must be compassionate and patient, and enjoy working with older people
Looking for 25 - 40 hours per week.
Work Environment:
Small, supportive team (3–4 people in the office).
About 10% of work involves direct client contact.
Business casual dress.
Bonus Skills:
Experience with Microsoft Office, bookkeeping, or Clio software.
