Wellness Public Relations Intern

Wellness Public Relations Intern – Fall Semester
Location: Manhattan, NY 10001 (IN-PERSON Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays from 10am-5pm)
Job Type: Internship (3 days/week)

Overview:

We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Public Relations Intern to support the Powers Wellness Division, which focuses on clients in the health, wellness, fitness, and lifestyle space. This internship offers hands-on experience in a fast-paced agency environment, working directly on campaigns that promote brands rooted in wellness, lifestyle, nutrition, fitness and. more. You’ll collaborate with a dedicated team and gain real-world exposure to PR strategies that drive awareness and growth for wellness brands within our portfolio.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist in drafting press releases, pitches and media alerts; support teams in building media and influencer lists for Powers Wellness Division clients
  • Support media outreach and influencer engagement across health, wellness, fitness and consumer lifestyle verticals
  • Conduct research and trend analysis on the wellness sector
  • Help plan and coordinate brand events, activations, and sampling opportunities
  • Monitor media coverage, compile press clippings and assist with building client reports

Ideal Candidate:

  • Currently pursuing a degree in Public Relations, Communications, Marketing, Journalism, or related field
  • Passionate about wellness, fitness, and healthy living
  • Strong writing and verbal communication skills
  • Skilled in research and staying ahead of industry trends
  • Detail-oriented, organized, and able to manage multiple tasks
  • Team player with a collaborative spirit and eagerness to learn
  • Familiarity with PR platforms (e.g., Muck Rack, Cision), social media tools and previous PR experience is a plus (but not required)
