REPORTS TO: YAH Assistant Program Director
JOB TYPE: Full-Time, with health and dental benefits (up to $45,000 annual salary)
JOB LOCATION: Macarthur Elementary
Position Summary:
The role involves assisting in planning general day-to-day operations of the afterschool and summer program and providing a developmentally appropriate, nurturing and enriching experience for children and youth. This role may include supporting the fiscal and administrative management, and communication with all stakeholders involved in the program.
Minimum Qualifications:
- A bachelor’s degree and/or a minimum of three years of relevant youth development experience in a governmental, non-profit or private sector organization
- Direct service delivery experience, personnel supervisory experience of paid or volunteer staff, as well as experience planning and directing programs
- Proven experience with decision making in a highly collaborative environment and ability to build effective partnerships.
- Experience working in a school setting is a plus
- Satisfactory employee background screening
- Bilingual in Spanish highly preferred, but not required

Duties and Responsibilities:
- Day-to-day implementation of engaging, high-quality youth afterschool and summer programming
- Coordination of program logistics for students, staff, community partners and volunteers
- Contact and communication with parents of student behavior and/or progress
- Availability to participate in regular meetings at the school sites with school administration/teachers
- Required to co-lead and present or report out at regular YAH staff meetings
- Hire, train, and supervise approved part-time staff and volunteers at assigned location
- Attends required Youth At Heart leadership trainings
- Oversees, monitors, and tracks attendance data and any other data collection requests required by Youth At Heart or stakeholders
- Purchase approved program supplies and maintain inventory in accordance with YAH policies
- Coordinate transportation for participants to home/offsite events in company vehicles when applicable
- Strong belief in the YAH philosophy of treating students, parents, and all stakeholders with dignity and respect
