Social Media Intern
Position: Social Media Intern (Paid, Part-Time)
Reports to: Marketing Manager
Location: Remote
Time Commitment: 10–15 hours/week
Compensation: Paid internship / $1,000 monthly stipend
Internship Application Open August 25 - September 15
Internship Dates September 29 - December 1 (begin and end date can be flexible based on student’s needs and schedule)

We work to unite, inspire, and activate travel businesses and professionals with the proper tools, resources, and educational programs needed to create positive social, environmental, and economic impact through travel.
Position Overview:
Tourism Cares is seeking a creative, research-savvy Social Media Intern to help evaluate and evolve its current social media presence. This internship is a unique opportunity to shape the future of the organization’s digital voice while gaining hands-on experience in social media strategy, sustainable tourism, and content development for a mission-driven organization.
Key Responsibilities:
Conduct a comprehensive audit of Tourism Cares' existing social media platforms (LinkedIn, Instagram, Facebook, etc.)
Research trends, benchmarks, and best practices in non-profit and sustainable tourism social media
Develop a recommended social media strategy tailored to Tourism Cares' goals and audiences
Present findings and strategy recommendations to the Marketing Manager
Upon approval, assist in implementing the strategy by supporting content planning, copywriting, and visual content creation
Attend weekly check-ins with the Marketing Manager to provide updates and receive feedback
Other marketing-related tasks as necessary
Qualifications:
Pursuing or recently completed an associates, undergraduate, or masters degree in Marketing, Communications, Tourism & Hospitality, or a related field
Strong understanding of social media platforms, analytics, and current trends (notably Instagram, LinkedIn, and Facebook)
Excellent research, writing, and communication skills
Self-starter with the ability to work independently, virtually, and meet deadlines
Passion for sustainability, social impact, or travel and tourism, a plus
Experience with design tools like Canva or Adobe Creative Suite is a bonus
