Financial Planning Paraplanner

Job Classification: Exempt, Salaried Position

Position Responsibilities/ Essential Job Duties:

  • Preparation and coordination for the Expense Analysis (“EA”) workflow. Consistent communication with the client service associate and data analyst to make sure the EA is on track.
  • Data and projections preparation prior to the meeting, based on the meeting hosts’ request.
  • Assists the planning manager and senior analyst on other financial planning tasks, including but not limited to: research, new policy memo, projection building, recommendation memo, estate planning review memo, reporting, etc.
  • Basic client meetings: eMoney setup, filling in for the senior analyst if they are not available.
  • Internal team meetings.

Minimum Certification Requirements

  • Series 65 (candidates don't need this to apply for the job.  But it will be an expectation to get this within a reasonable time after employment.)

Hard Skills:

  • Bachelor’s degree, preferably Personal Finance or other related majors.
  • 6-month data analyst training.
  • Mid to high-level financial planning knowledge.
  • Advanced computer skills such as Microsoft OXice Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint,

and Outlook).

  • Strong skills in information gathering/monitoring, problem-solving, and critical

thinking.

  • Ability to multi-task, prioritizes and manages time eXectively.
  • Strong attention to detail and high level of accuracy.
  • Ability to maintain client confidentiality.
  • Able to work well individually and as part of a collaborative team.
  • Willing to be flexible and adaptable to the duties and hours of the position.

Working Conditions:

  • Physical Requirements: Primarily sedentary work, exerting up to 25 lbs. of force occasionally or a negligible amount frequently.
  • Physical Activity: Primary working position-sitting, with occasional standing, walking, stooping, crouching, and kneeling; frequent reaching, carrying, lifting, pushing, pulling, fingering, grasping, typing, talking-speaking clearly, hearing-conversation, and seeing-near.
  • Work/Environmental: Moderate noise level consistent with an office environment.
  • Personal/Physiological: Interaction with people, working around people, planning of activities, making judgments in emergency situations, frequent changes in duties and volume of work, intra-organizational communication.
