Production Tech Manager

Title: Production Tech Manager

Campus / Job Location: Bath, Full-time salary

Reports to: Ezra Wimberly, Lead Pastor of Campus Culture

 

Position Overview

The Production Tech Manager plays a vital role in ensuring the smooth execution of technical operations for Worship Services across the Bath Campus. This position involves a balance of leading teams, managing equipment, and developing efficient processes for audio and video production. While the role focuses on Weekend Service production, this role will serve as the primary influence for how all ministry teams use the worship spaces. In addition, the Production Tech Manager will contribute to creating high-quality experiences for both in-person and online audiences.

Essential Skills & Job Functions

This role requires a proactive and technically skilled individual who can effectively lead teams, manage projects, and maintain high standards for audio, video and lighting production. Weekend hours are essential to this role. The Production Tech Manager will be responsible for quality control during weekend services, managing equipment, processes and improvement projects.

    Production Team Leadership

  • Oversee recruitment and training of adult production teams – for weekend and mid-week ministries – developing leadership from within the ministry.
  • Utilize and coordinate with other AVL staff to develop high-functioning production volunteer teams. Mentor technical volunteers, fostering their growth and development towards high ownership, consistency, and spiritual health.
  • Work closely with the Visual Coordinator and Audio Coordinator to oversee the development of volunteer processes and training materials for ministry teams.
  • Develop and Manage volunteer teams to support tech use in the facilities (i.e. Bible Camp, Funerals, Conferences, etc)

    Weekend Service Quality Control and Production

  • Serve as Production manager and QC for Weekend Services – Both at Ghent and Montrose.
  • Focus on ensuring in-room readiness and overall quality of the service experience.
  • Monitor and maintain streaming quality for online audiences and exporting.

     Project Design and Integration

  • Work closely with the Lead Pastor of Campus Culture to develop technical systems and processes that can be used, managed and improved by volunteer teams for a variety of ministry uses.
  • Manage the upkeep and maintenance of technical equipment in ALL worship spaces.
  • Lead and manage improvement projects related to audio, video, and lighting systems.
  • Develop and Oversee the AVL portions of the Creative Arts Budget.

Troubleshooting

  • Be available on call for troubleshooting, providing timely support and solutions.

  • Will serve teammates and the whole of Grace Church sacrificially as part of one united team, serving together.
  • Handles confidential matters and material with integrity and an intuitive understanding of sensitive ministry information. Communicates information to pastoral staff as appropriate.
  • Is proficient and confident in computer skills that include the programs of Microsoft Office; willing to learn in-house management systems.
