High School Band Director/Teacher

Dayton Christian High School has an opening for a High School Band Director/Teacher for the 2025/2026 school year.

Specific courses taught will include general band, winds, percussion, musicianship, jazz band and music theory.  The Band Director will lead after-school activities including Marching Band, Pep Band and Winter drumline.

The teacher will, in partnership with the Department Chair, implement strategies to inspire and assist student learning across the curriculum. On a weekly basis, the teacher will develop lesson plans along with organizing learning materials and resources as an essential part of the teaching environment that is designed to achieve essential state-mandated standards for each student and adheres to all Dayton Christian standards and guidelines.

The teacher will also consistently communicate with parents and guardians about their student’s holistic progress throughout the school year. The candidate must possess the strong ability to integrate principals of the Christian faith into daily teaching.

Qualifications include being a born-again believer and having a bachelor’s degree with sufficient coursework in music education.  Applicant must possess a current educator’s license with the State of Ohio or be able to obtain one. Strong communication and organizational skills.  Creative teaching abilities. Excellent knowledge of student development and the latest education theories and practices.
