Clinical Research Coordinator and Data Analyst

The Clinical Research Coordinator and Data Analyst is a key cross-functional leader supporting reproductive medicine research, clinical operations, and enterprise-wide data infrastructure. This role functions at the intersection of research, database architecture, analytics, and departmental strategy, leading the development and implementation of automated tools, pipelines, and data visualizations that drive decision-making across the organization.
We have a full-time opening for a Clinical Research Coordinator to join the team at our headquarters located at our Manhattan Eastside office. The schedule is Monday-Friday 9:00am-5:30pm, with the ability to work weekends for special projects, events, and conferences as needed.
Full-Time, on-site, pay per hour $33.65 - $38.46

We always do whatever it takes, even if it isn't specifically our "job." In general, the Clinical Research Coordinator is responsible for:
Research Support and Analysis
- Independently source, clean, and analyze data for new research proposals and fellow-initiated studies.
- Update and maintain longitudinal research datasets for ongoing projects and publications.
- Perform statistical modeling (e.g., GLMs, ANOVA, mixed-effects models) and consult on research design.
- Contribute to the success of national conferences (American Society of Reproductive Medicine (ASRM), Pacific Coast Reproductive Society (PCRS)) with abstract and peer-reviewed manuscript submission.
- Collaborate with physicians and fellows to frame research questions and publish findings.
Database Architecture and Automation
- Develop and manage SQL Server views, stored procedures, and pipelines.
- Automate tools and dashboards used across departments using SQL, Python, VBA, Tableau, and Access.
- Integrate and upload data sources including SART, My Reproductive Portal, and third-party partners.
- Upload USF RMA adaptive data weekly.
- Automate existing tools for practice.
Cross Departmental Tools and Support
- Create and maintain high-impact widgets and applications across finance, nursing, embryology, IT, New Patient and Marking as needed.
- Pull data for SART, New Patient information, and Discharge lists.
- Serve as point person for tool development including IUI scheduler, sperm analysis scheduler, and authorization tracking widgets.
- Troubleshoot, update, and enhance VBA and Excel-based tools (e.g., embryo scoring widgets, QC forms).
- Restore files to previous versions when broken down
Collaboration and Stakeholder Engagement
- Act as institutional representative in meetings with external data partners and AI collaborators (e.g., Cercle, ALIFE, Amulet AI).
- Respond to urgent, high-stakes data requests across all levels of the organization, including C-level and external audits.
- Languages/Tools: SQL, Python (pandas, numpy), Excel VBA, Tableau, PowerBI, MS Access
- Platforms: MS SQL Server, RESource, My Reproductive Portal, SART
- Methods: Regression modeling, cohort analysis, data cleansing, dashboarding, workflow automation
Technical Competencies

Additional Responsibility
- Implement and comply with all HIPAA regulations.
- Accept special projects as assigned by the CEO, President, Director of Research Operations and/or the Laboratory Director.
- Address ad hoc analyses, information and data requests from leadership, including those outside of Research.
- Collaborate with external stakeholders and companies as needed.
- Address requests and queries.

Qualifications:
- Bachelor's Degree in Biostatistics, Mathematics, Computer Science, Health Science, Public Health, Economics, Statistics, or related research field. Master’s degree preferred but not required.
- Prefer an individual with 1 to 2 years of experience in clinical research and data analyzation.
- Strong statistical computing skills in SAS, R or Python.
- Proficiency with SQL – understanding of relational databases and experience with querying and munging large datasets.
- Excellent written and oral communication skills.
- Strong ability to identify, analyze and solve problems.
- Keen attention to detail and good documentation habits.
- Self-directed and able to manage priorities on multiple projects simultaneously.
- Strong time-management and prioritization skills.
- Ability to work well under pressure.
- Must be able to effectively communicate with all levels of the organization.
- Experience in creating data visualizations and dashboards (e.g. Tableau, Seaborn).
- Knowledge of scripting language and analytical libraries (e.g. Python, PANDAS, NumPy).
- Experience integrating VBA macros with excel and MS Access.
- Experience publishing in peer-reviewed journals and conference presentations.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- Ability to communicate complex data clearly to clinical and non-technical audiences
- Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to work as part of a multi-disciplinary team and build and maintain effective working relationships.
- Understanding research methodology, study design, and statistical concepts.
- Knowledge of clinical and scientific publication standards, ex: abstract and manuscript development or review.
- Maintain high data integrity across research datasets and operational systems.
- Able to clean, transform, and validate large datasets from various sources to ensure quality and integrity.
- Working knowledge of Database querying (SQL); programming widgets, systems, and/or dashboards.
- Knowledge of auditing and monitoring processes and systems.
- Be able to recognize symptoms; clarify concerns, issues, and problems.
- Detail-oriented with excellent organizational and documentation skills.
- Ability to maintain the highest level of confidentiality.
- Working knowledge of HIPAA compliance and PHI handling.
