Position: The Alumni and Communications Coordinator is a full-time, benefited, FLSA exempt, C41 level, position located at the main campus of Eastern Wyoming College in Torrington., WY.

Salary Hire Amount: $52,310.00 – $56,332.00 annually (depending on education & experience)

Start Date: As negotiated

Job Summary:
The position is responsible for developing, managing, and sustaining relationships with alumni of Eastern Wyoming College. This role focuses on alumni engagement, communication, events, and database management to foster lifelong connections that support the college’s mission and strategic goals. The position requires occasional, limited travel throughout the EWC service area.

Essential Duties:

  • Develop and implement alumni engagement strategies and programs.
  • Maintain and grow the alumni database, ensuring accurate contact and employment information.
  • Coordinate and disseminate alumni communications, including print and digital newsletters, email campaigns, social media updates, and website content.
  • Cultivate alumni to become future donors.
  • Manage and oversee the Alumni Committee including organization, meetings and communication.
  • Prepare reports for the Executive Director, Foundation Board and President.
  • Plan and execute alumni events such as reunions, networking mixers, guest speaker series, and related activities.
  • Serve as the primary liaison between the college and the alumni community, including Booster Club.
  • Work with various departments at the college to promote alumni involvement in mentoring, internships, and giving campaigns.
  • Identify and recruit alumni for volunteer opportunities and advisory roles.
  • Track and report alumni engagement metrics and success stories.
  • Assist with fundraising campaigns by encouraging alumni participation and contributions.
  • Represent the college at alumni events, community functions, and college-sponsored activities.
  • Manage the selection of the annual Distinguished Alumni.
  • Develop and oversee a budget for alumni relations.
  • Perform all other duties of a similar nature or level as assigned.

Required Qualifications:

  • Associate degree in Communications, Marketing, Public Relations, or related field from accredited college or university and/or experience in alumni relations, event planning, and communications
  • Demonstrated ability to integrate and work as an effective team member
  • Strong record keeping and organizational acumen
  • Possess effective communication ability (written, oral, listening)
  • Computer skills proficiency in Microsoft suite of applications (Excel, Word, Outlook, Power Point) and Google Workplace (Google Drive, Calendar, Docs, Sheets, Slides)
  • Current and valid state-issued Driver License

Preferred Qualifications:

  • More than three years of experience in alumni relations, event planning, and communications
  • Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Marketing, Public Relations, or related field from accredited college or university
  • Previous experience in a higher education or nonprofit environment
  • Experience in fundraising for higher education / college athletics
  • Extensive experience in utilizing client relationship management tools to drive data informed strategies
