
EMS Training Coordinator
Overview:
IREMSC is seeking a dedicated and experienced Training Coordinator to manage and enhance our EMS training programs. This role, under the direction of the Executive Director, will oversee day-to-day operations of the Training Department, coordinate EMS certification and training activities, and support rural and regional EMS services in Alaska. The ideal candidate will bring expertise in EMS, a passion for training, and an ability to work collaboratively with diverse stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage daily operations of the Training Department, ensuring program goals are met and within budget.
- Advise on EMS standards, best practices, and training development.
- Serve as the Training Center Coordinator for IREMSC’s AHA Training Center.
- Assist regional services with ePCR program setup and data management.
- Provide oversight for EMT certification and exams, including training of Certifying Officers.
- Serve as a liaison to EMS professionals and state agencies, advocating for quality EMS education.
- Conduct site visits, plan events, and support ongoing training for EMS providers in rural Alaska.
Qualifications:
- Trained Paramedic, RN, NP, PA, or physician eligible for Alaska licensure.
- Minimum of 3 years in emergency care and at least 1 year in EMS instruction.
- Experience in adult education and EMS curriculum development.
- Strong organizational and communication skills.
- Proficiency in business software (Google suite preferred).
Preferred:
- Bachelor’s degree or higher.
- Experience in rural Alaska EMS and with volunteer EMS providers.
- 3+ years of EMS instructional experience and management.
