Overview
RTW Investments is seeking a Royalty Financing Intern whose primary responsibilities will be performing scientific and commercial diligence on the pipeline assets of biotech companies. The internship will provide a foundation in diligence and multidisciplinary communication for aspiring life sciences investors.
Key Responsibilities
- Competitive Landscaping: assess pipeline assets and contextualize them within their therapeutic landscape
- Scientific & Clinical Research: summarize clinical trial data, mechanism of action, regulatory filings, etc.
- Epidemiological research: estimate total addressable patient population to support commercial analysis
- Maintain Databases: update and manage internal databases
- The listed responsibilities are not comprehensive, and additional tasks may be assigned as required.
Qualifications and Skills
- College degree required (ideally with a major in physical or life sciences); advanced degree (e.g. MD, PhD) preferred
- Scientific and medical literacy: critically interpret biomedical literature, clinical trial design, mechanism of action, therapeutic landscapes, etc.
- Multidisciplinary communication: communicate effectively with scientists, corporate finance professionals, lawyers, internal teams, etc.
- Curiosity & Initiative: proactive learning, asking good questions, willingness to engage with both breadth and depth
- Attention to detail: willingness to double-check work, ask clarifying questions, and take pride in delivering error-free outputs
- Discretion: ability to maintain confidentiality and professionalism when handling sensitive information
- Must be able to work from our New York City office 5 days per week

The weekly salary for this New York-based position is $1500 - $2500. Actual salary may vary based on qualifications and the level at which the role is hired.
