Responsibilities:

The Deputy Recorder 1 is responsible to provide routine clerical activities to include, but not limited to; typing, filing, processing filing fees and transactions; receive and process payments for recording, record maintenance and copying documents. Answer telephones, direct calls and take messages in a prompt and professional manners; monitor voicemails on a daily basis. Greet and assist customers at the counter and in the abstract room with locating deeds, mortgages, land contracts, plats, liens and leases; refer customers to appropriate departments when necessary. Incumbent is responsible for operating the computer at the front counter; opening and distributing mail; recording legal documents in accordance with state and county laws, rules, regulations and departmental polices; search and receive, file and return all documents and county records.

Qualifications:

High School Diploma or G.E.D., and a minimum of six (6) months of office experience and/or any combination of education of experience which provides the essential knowledge, skills, and abilities.
