Overview
Middle Tennessee Electric is seeking a creative, strategic and self-motivated Social Media Manager to join our member-focused electric utility cooperative. This full-time role offers the opportunity to lead and grow our social media presence while engaging our community with purpose and positivity.

Key Responsibilities 

• Develop and execute a strategic social media plan aligned with the co-op’s mission and goals
• Create engaging, informative and visually appealing content across multiple platforms (Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn and others)
• Highlight businesses, community stories, co-op history and culture within the service area
• Share educational content on energy conservation, safety and co-op services
• Monitor trends and community sentiment, and respond to comments and messages in a timely and positive manner
• Collaborate with internal departments and attend local events to gather stories and content
• Analyze performance metrics and adjust strategies to improve reach and engagement

Must Have Skills

• One to three years of experience managing social media for a brand, organization or agency
• Proven track record of creating and growing social media channels
• Excellent written and visual communication skills
• Familiarity with social media scheduling and analytics tools (such as Sprout, Hootsuite or Meta Business Suite)
• Ability to work independently, take initiative and recognize opportunities in everyday moments
• Passion for community, storytelling and bringing good energy to all content

Nice to Have Skills

• Basic graphic design, photography or video editing skills (Adobe Premiere, After Effects or Express)
• Understanding of electric utility services or cooperative business models
