International Communication and Marketing Intern
International Communication and Marketing Internship (Spring, Summer, Fall)
Location: Remote (U.S.-based); must have a valid U.S. work authorization and be available during EST business hours.
Length: Semester (min. 3 months, with possibility to extend)
Hours: Flexible, minimum three days / week
Compensation: $500 stipend per internship term
Reports to: Senior Recruitment Manager
Open for: Current undergraduate and graduate students from a relevant field (e.g. International Relations, Political Science, Communications, Public Relations, Graphic Design, etc.).
The International Communication and Marketing intern will support the work of the APSIA team, focusing on marketing and social media. This internship is ideal for someone who is interested in learning more about international relations and policy, enjoys engaging with people, and would like to gain practical experience in marketing. The intern will gain additional experience in outreach, analysis, and project management. By the end of the internship, the intern will be able to analyze and understand the educational and career trends in the field of international affairs.
What you will work on at APSIA:
- Assist the team to maintain the website and create social media, video, print, and other content to promote APSIA and its events to relevant audiences around the world
- Assist the planning and marketing of APSIA events to target audiences in various locations around across all channels
- Help with logistics and communication around events in Africa, Asia, Europe, Latin America, and North America
- Help create student and alumni profiles for APSIA’s website and marketing materials to tell the story of what can be done with an APSIA degree
- Support the growth of APSIA’s network of student advisors and influencers in Africa, Asia, Europe, Latin America, and North America
What you bring to APSIA:
- Demonstrated excellence in oral and written communication skills in English. Additional language skills are a plus.
- Excellent command of MS-Office Suite.
- Experience with Canva, WordPress, MailChimp, Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, and social media scheduling tools (ex: Hootsuite).
- Experience creating social media graphics preferred.
- Can work independently and proactively, but enjoys being part of a small and collaborative team.
- Previous office experience required.
- Demonstrated ability to multitask with minimal supervision required.
