About the Role
The Mackinaw City Visitors Bureau is seeking an enthusiastic and driven professional to serve as our next Head of the Visitors Bureau. This is an exciting opportunity to lead tourism efforts for one of Michigan’s most iconic travel destinations. You’ll be the face of Mackinaw City’s tourism efforts—bringing events to life, building partnerships, and promoting our region across the state and beyond.
This role is ideal for someone who is passionate about community-building, event planning, and showcasing the unique experiences northern Michigan has to offer.
Key Responsibilities
Event Coordination: Plan, organize, and execute public events to drive tourism and engage the local community.
Vendor Procurement: Identify and contract with vendors and suppliers to support events and campaigns.
Budget Management: Create and manage budgets for events, marketing campaigns, and bureau operations.
Marketing & Advertising: Develop and execute marketing strategies to attract visitors year-round using digital, print, and social media platforms.
Community Relations: Build strong relationships with local businesses, government officials, and community groups to promote regional growth.
Public Representation: Serve as an ambassador for Mackinaw City in media, regional tourism boards, and partnership meetings.
What We're Looking For
A degree in Hospitality, Tourism, Marketing, Communications, or a related field (recent grads welcome!)
Strong organizational and communication skills
