Operations Intern - Fall Semester

DESCRIPTION

PLUS Communications, a public affairs firm based in Arlington, Virginia, is looking for current college students and recent graduates to support its growing Operations team as interns. Ideal candidates are hardworking, driven individuals who have an interest in supporting the Operations department.

Interns will work directly with the Operations/IT team as well as within the various departments of the firm as needed.

This is an in-person position in our Arlington, Virginia office.

REQUIREMENTS

Responsibilities may include:

  • Providing front desk support
  • Stocking and taking inventory
  • Receiving and delivering mail and packages
  • Providing administrative support for all on-site meetings, including overseeing conference room scheduling and all preparations for internal meetings and new business pitches
  • Assisting in the preparation of PowerPoint decks and other written materials for new business and client meetings
  • Helping with the planning of company-wide events
  • Providing administrative assistance as necessary
  • Performing daily systems checks of equipment
  • Helping to ensure all office equipment, including phones, scanners, and printers are working correctly
  • Providing technical assistance as needed and, when necessary, elevating IT-related issues to IT department
  • Other duties as assigned

Ideal candidates will meet the following requirements:

  • Possess superior oral and written communication skills and the ability to work with a variety of people at all levels of the firm
  • Be proficient in Excel and Microsoft Office
  • Show meticulous attention to detail, great organizational skills, and a positive, can-do attitude
  • Able to meet deadlines while juggling multiple requests and projects

Start and end dates are flexible, but we ask that interns commit to working a minimum of 20 hours per week.
