Procurement Manager

JOB SUMMARY

Kutak Rock LLP seeks a Procurement Manager to join its national Accounting and Finance team in its Omaha office. Reporting to the CFO, this role is vital in driving procurement management best practices through support to Firm members in making cost effective procurement decisions and ensuring consistency with Firm requirements and best practices in contracting and vendor management. This position is ideal for the individual with experience in tracking and managing leases and overseeing vendor onboarding, compliance, management, renewal, reporting, and termination.

 

RESPONSIBILITIES

Procurement & Contracting

  • Develop and implement firm-wide vendor tracking and monitoring strategies, policies and procedures, including maintaining and distributing approved vendor lists in accordance with operational and financial objectives and policy requirements
  • Assist, as requested by accounting or other stakeholders, in identifying opportunities to streamline, consolidate, and centralize Firm contracting to achieve cost savings and operational efficiencies
  • Maintain strong vendor relationships and, working with end users, ensure ongoing performance monitoring, cost control, and contract compliance
  • Collaborate with the Firm’s office of the general counsel to ensure that contract terms meet applicable client and Firm requirements, protect the Firm’s interests and mitigate risk
  • Upon request, assist in coordinating procurement for supplies or services across Firm locations

Information Security & Risk Management

  • Act as procurement liaison with the Information Security and IT teams to confirm third-party vendors meet security, confidentiality, and data privacy standards and are in compliance with periodic recertification requirements
  • Support the Information Security and IT teams in their performance of vendor risk assessments and due diligence, particularly for technology or data-handling vendors

Real Estate & Facilities Coordination

  • Catalogue lease agreements and maintain database of Firm lease obligations
  • Assist, as requested, in ensuring compliance with Firm notice and review requirements relative to office space, including consolidations, expansions, relocations, build outs, and renewals, in coordination with leadership

Leadership & Collaboration

  • Partner closely with attorney and staff leadership to ensure procurement supports strategic goals and satisfies operational requirements
  • Provide routine reporting to leadership, including spend analysis, procurement forecasts, and supplier performance metrics
     

QUALIFICATIONS: Skills and Abilities

  • Demonstrated ability in overseeing vendor contracts
  • Knowledge of lease and contract laws
  • Ability to collaborate and coordinate with firm resources to ensure review related to contract law, risk mitigation, and data privacy
  • Proven ability to juggle multiple initiatives while maintaining attention to detail
  • Skilled negotiator with excellent interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills

 

QUALIFICATIONS: Education and Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain, Finance, or a related field required
  • 4+ years of progressive experience in procurement, contracting, or supply chain, ideally within a legal, corporate, or professional services setting
  • Candidates with Certified Professional in Supply Management (CPSM) or Certified Purchasing Professional (CPP) preferred but not required

 

Position Information

Status: Exempt

Salary Range: $75,000-$105,000, commensurate with education and experience

Work Arrangement: Hybrid with manager approval
