Judicial Paralegal-Honorable Mary A. Hood (Family Division)
General Summary: The 7th Judicial Circuit Court is seeking a full-time judicial paralegal, to the Honorable Mary A. Hood. This is an appointed position, serving in the civil/criminal division of the court under the supervision of Judge Hood.
Minimum Qualifications: • Associate degree in an accredited paralegal program, criminal justice or other social science field -AND- one (1) year of experience as a paralegal or legal assistant; -OR- • Three (3) years’ experience as a paralegal or legal assistant. General Description of Duties: Under the supervision of the Judge, duties include, but are not limited to, reviewing incoming communications, compose and draft responses for review by the judge, prepare and draft various legal documents. The judicial paralegal has day-to-day responsibilities for the operation of a digital recording system in the courtroom, and to function as the jury bailiff. The paralegal shall be expected to effectively communicate with the public, court personnel, court security officers and attorneys.
