Quality and Regulatory Intern

Position Summary

The Quality and Regulatory Intern will support the Food Safety and Quality Assurance (FSQA) team in a beverage manufacturing environment. Over a 10–12 week internship, the intern will gain exposure to food safety standards, regulatory compliance, and quality control processes. This role offers hands-on experience with inspections, audits, documentation, and continuous improvement initiatives.

 

Key Responsibilities

•Participate in onboarding and GMP training
•Assist with reviewing and updating SOPs and documentation audits
•Shadow lab testing and contribute to sample analysis
•Support internal audits and summarize findings
•Learn and apply root cause analysis and CAPA processes
•Conduct a mini FSQA improvement project and present findings
•Engage in final presentation and feedback session

 

Required Qualifications

•Currently pursuing a degree in Food Science, Biology, Chemistry, or related field
•Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
•Basic understanding of food safety principles and regulatory standards
•Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and documentation practices

 

Preferred Qualifications

•Familiarity with LIMS or other lab data systems
•Experience with QA checklists and audit procedures
•Exposure to manufacturing or laboratory environments

 

Physical Demands

•Ability to stand for extended periods during lab or production floor activities
•May require lifting of light lab or QA equipment (up to 20 lbs)

 

Work Environment

•Combination of office, lab, and production floor settings
•Exposure to moderate noise, temperature changes, and food-grade environments

 

Required Travel

•Minimal; may include visits to production areas or off-site audits
