Reports To: Customer Service Manager
Salary: $90,000-110,000 (MIP eligible)
FLSA Status: Exempt

Position Overview
Fire and Gas Detection Technologies, Inc. is seeking a highly skilled and experienced
Product Manager to lead the full lifecycle of our industrial safety products, from concept
through commercialization and continuous improvement. The ideal candidate will have
deep expertise in product development within the instrumentation, fire, and gas industries,
as well as a strong track record of cross-functional collaboration, cost management, and
technical communication. This position is critical to the ongoing innovation, quality and
competitiveness of our product lines in a fast-paced, ISO 9001-certified manufacturing
environment.


Essential Duties and Responsibilities
• Own the end-to-end product lifecycle from ideation, Voice of Customer (VOC), design
coordination, New Product Introduction (NPI), to post-launch analysis.
• Manage Engineering Change Orders (ECOs) and communicate updates clearly across
teams.
• Collaborate with R&D, engineering, ISC, finance, and sales to align product
specifications, cost targets, and timelines.
• Create and maintain technical documentation, application notes, and training guides.
• Optimize the product portfolio through SKU rationalization and cost-efficiency
strategies.
• Monitor and analyze product performance usings KPIs, customer satisfaction data, and
market trends.
• Facilitate post-launch feedback loops with customer success and service teams.
• Lead the development of installer certification programs and ensure compliance with
regulatory standards.
• Drive cost reduction and quality enhancement initiatives by consolidation input from
engineering, production, and aftersales.
• Provide product training and serve as the internal subject matter expert for assigned
product lines.
• Other duties as assigned.


Minimum Qualifications/Experience Required
• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Business Administration, or a related field; or
equivalent experience in the fire/gas safety or instrumentation industries.
• Minimum of 7 years of technical product management experience in relevant sectors.
• Proven ability to lead NPI and manage complex product portfolios.
• Proficient in Excel, PowerPoint, and familiar with AI/data tools for analysis and
presentation.
• Strong communication and leadership skills across cross-functional teams.
• Deep knowledge of industry certifications and standards (e.g., UL, ISO, fire safety codes)
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
• Expertise in product costing, pricing strategies, and manufacturing workflows.
• Ability to manage and influence stakeholders at all levels.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities with attention to technical and customer
details.
• Commitment to continuous improvement and quality assurance principles.
• Familiarity with ERP systems and product management tools is a plus.


Working Conditions
Work is performed in an office and production environment with some exposure to
machinery and electronic equipment. Occasional travel may be required to customer sites,
trade shows, or partner facilities, both locally and internationally.
Additional Requirements
• Availability for occasional extended hours or travel depending on project timelines.
• Frequent use of hands and fingers to handle parts, operate instruments, or use
computers.
• Requires strong attention to visual detail.
• Regular Schedule is Monday–Friday, 8:00 AM – 4:30 PM.
• After approximately 6 months to 1 year, and based on performance, business needs, and
department readiness, there may be an opportunity to transition to a hybrid work
schedule (remote/in-office split), subject to management approval.
