Cost Estimator - Laser North - Baraga, Michigan

Laser North, a professional sheet metal and structural fabrication company, seeks an Estimator to join their team in Baraga, Michigan. All levels of experience being considered and are encouraged to apply. We are willing to train someone who is motivated to build a career in the manufacturing industry.

We’re looking for someone who knows how to put together solid estimates and quotes that not only make sense—but help the business grow. If you’re great with numbers and like seeing your work drive results, this could be a great fit.

WHAT WE OFFER.

  • Annual salary of $65,000 or more to be based on your knowledge and experience.

 WHAT YOU WILL DO.

  • Analyze project specifications to determine material, labor, and machinery costs.
  • Use manufacturing software to derive and create CAD data for projects.
  • Prepare accurate estimates and bids for fabricated metal parts and assemblies.
  • Engage with clients via email, phone, and video conferencing to understand project needs, strategize, provide updates, and clarify technical details.
  • Follow-up with clients to collect feedback and resolve inquiries.
  • Offer technical support to clients and the production team as needed.

WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR.

  • A robust combination of positive attitude, professionalism, and work experience to provide the knowledge, skills, and abilities required to perform the job.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Keen ability to remain organized.
  • 3 years’ experience in metal manufacturing preferred, but not If you’re motivated to build a career in the manufacturing industry, we will train you to be excellent.
  • Basic computer skills and working knowledge of Microsoft Office.
  • Experience with SolidWorks®, AutoCAD®, or other computer-based drafting programs preferred, but not required.
