Administrative and Financial Coordinator
Organizational Description:
NICOS Chinese Health Coalition is a public-private-community partnership of more than 30 health and human service organizations. The mission of NICOS is to enhance the health and well-being of San Francisco’s Chinese community. NICOS is engaged in advocacy, research, training, coalition-building and program implementation for the benefit of this population and the organizations that serve it.
Project/Position Summary:
Under the supervision of the Executive Director, the Administrative and Financial Coordinator is responsible for assisting with the planning, development, coordination, and maintenance of the agency’s administrative, programmatic and financial operations. The Administrative and Financial Coordinator: coordinates administrative operations to support daily operations; coordinates financial and fiscal operations, including audits, banking, bookkeeping (A/P, A/R) and payroll; assists with oversight of project budgets and contract compliance; assists in fund and resource development. This is a full-time position.
Compensation: $48K - $65K, DOE + Good Benefits
Duties and Responsibilities:
● Work with the Executive Director to plan, develop, coordinate, maintain and ensure integrity of agency’s administrative, programmatic and financial systems and operations
● Oversee bookkeeping and accounting functions (A/P, A/R, reconciliation, financial statements)
● Participate in annual financial audit
● Conduct human resource management-related functions, including the recruitment, hiring, orientation and development of staff, interns and volunteers and administration of employee benefits
● Assist in monitoring and managing program budgets; ensure compliance with requirements of funding sources
● Assist in the development and implementation of agency policies and procedures
● Organize, coordinate staff, board and coalition meetings, trainings and other events
● Update, refine continuously the agency’s Operations Manual and Personnel Handbook
● Provide support to the Executive Director and Board of Directors, including facilitating communication, coordinating meetings, taking minutes, generating program and financial reports
● Participate as a member of the agency’s Management Team
● Supervise the Administrative and Program Assistant, interns and volunteers
● Other duties as assigned
Qualifications:
● Bachelor’s Degree in Business Management, Public Administration or related discipline preferred
● Minimum three years experience in an administrative role, preferably in a nonprofit setting
● Excellent oral and written communication skills
● Excellent interpersonal skills
● Exceptionally well-organized; self-starting; professional
● Experience with Quickbooks; knowledge of bookkeeping/ accounting concepts
● Proficient with computer software applications, including MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Sharepoint); ability to typeset in Chinese desired
● Share in the values and mission of the organization
● Bilingual English/Cantonese preferred
