Cost Assurance Analyst

General Summary of Position:

Cost Assurance Team has an opening for a Cost Assurance Analyst to be responsible for approving carrier invoice payments and associated account balances, obtaining invoice details to upload to a centralized database, and providing accounting with financial information for the monthly financial close. Additionally, this role includes reporting on KPIs and auditing Granite’s cost to move the team forward and drive decision making.

 

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Approve carrier invoices for payment and ensure account balances are accurate.
  • Identify and allocate costs to the appropriate product line.
  • Analyze costs to identify trends and discrepancies on a month to month basis.
  • Perform monthly audits on payments, reconciliations, and accruals.
  • Supplement and manage internal cost database tables with associated carrier invoice billing details.
  • Provide financial analysis support to accounting and other teams in finance.
  • Review and/or develop audit reports to assist in identifying discrepancies in cost.
  • Attain a working knowledge of telecommunication tariffs, interconnection agreements, and vendor contracts.
  • Research new USOCs or cost components to understand cost structure or product detail.
  • Submit timely, well documented disputes to vendor for erroneous billing via the standardize dispute process.

Required Qualifications:

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office.
  • Advanced Excel skills.
  • Experienced in understanding audit concepts, and data analysis.
  • Excellent research skills-Proven problem-solving skills.
  • Self-Motivated-Ability to work equally well under supervision and independently.
  • Comfortable in a team setting.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with Power Pivot or Power BI.
  • Understand SQL or similar database languages.
  • Proven success and interest in process improvements.
  • Prior experience in the Telecommunications industry.
  • Strong data mining and analytical skills.
  • Negotiation skills.
