Patient Care Technician
Patient Care Technician / Surgery / Full Time
Delivers direct/indirect care to patients of all ages from neonate, infant, pediatric, adolescent, and adult to geriatric, under the delegation/direction/supervision of a physician, registered nurse, and/or licensed practical nurse. Assists in maintaining a safe, clean environment and performs clerical/administrative functions as assigned. Demonstrates critical thinking/clinical reasoning in decision making to assure the delivery of safe, quality, timely, compassionate, and cost-effective care to the patient populations served by the department(s)/unit(s)/area(s). Effectively communicates and collaborates both intra- and interdepartmentally with patients, families, physicians, administration and other healthcare team members. Documents accurately and in a timely manner.
Education and Work Experience
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Current STNA (State Tested Nurse Aide) certification preferred.
- Current American Heart Association (AHA) Healthcare Provider CPR (BLS) certification required.
- Previous neonatal, pediatric, adolescent, adult, and/or geriatric patient care experience preferred.
