POSTING DATE: July 24, 2025 POSITION ID: 25-ESP-23 POSITION: Bookkeeper, Accounts Payable LOCATION: Business Office-Administration Building SALARY: Level IA, Step 3.0 Per ESP Agreement 40 Hours/Week, 12 Month Calendar Starting hourly rate: $21.80 (Level IA, Step 3.0 ) START DATE: Monday, August 18, 2025 DEADLINE TO APPLY: August 1, 2025 The successful candidate will be joining an award winning business office department in the Farmington Public Schools. The Bookkeeper position includes a great on-site working environment alongside the payroll department and eligibility for full time benefits. Candidates with a passion for financial numbers, ability to work well with others, and work history connected to accounts payable are encouraged to apply. QUALIFICATIONS Minimum: ● Demonstrated knowledge and application of accounting principles. ● Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, and Google Suite. ● Ability to communicate clearly and concisely, both verbally and in writing. ● Ability to maintain confidentiality of records, correspondence, and conferences. ● Ability to develop effective working relationships with district staff and the school community. ● Ability to perform duties with an understanding of all district requirements and Board of Education policies. ● Ability to pass a basic bookkeeping assessment prior to hire. Preferred: ● Associate’s Degree in Accounting or related field. ● Minimum of three (3) years of bookkeeping experience. ● Experience with computerized financial software systems (PowerSchool BusinessPLUS preferred). DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES ● Process all accounts payable vendor payments, including ACH payments. ● Reconcile processed work by verifying entries and comparing to systems reports to balance. ● Scan and maintain digital images of all payments processed. ● Communicate with vendors regarding missing or conflicting invoices, including investigation of past due notices from vendors. ● Reconcile and balance vendor statements. ● Organize and send invoices to appropriate buildings/departments. ● Reconcile purchase orders with accuracy. DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES continued… ● Manage and maintain vendor records, including W9s for tax reporting. ● Follow up monthly with departments on the status of open purchase orders. ● Collect, review, and verify account number accuracy for all purchasing card receipts, ensuring proper substantiation and documentation. ● Process a high volume workload with high level of accuracy under specific deadlines. ● Independently research issues/concerns and bring them to resolution. ● Develop effective working relationships with staff and the school community. ● Maintain schedules and records to track fixed asset additions, that include equipment purchases and bond related work for audit purposes. ● Learn, understand and apply account code structure in daily duties and responsibilities to review transactions and ensure accuracy in preparation for the annual audit. ● Support and train building secretarial staff on purchasing and receiving processes, as needed. ● Continuously improve the payment process. ● Other duties as assigned.
