Social Media Intern

The Grand Rapids Women’s Chorus is looking for someone to grow our social media presence, attract new audience members, and grow our base of supporters. We are hoping to hire a student who is in need of a marketing/communications internship. This could be for the Fall 2025 semester or both Fall and Spring.   • You are a self-starter with the ability to manage your own task list and goals with minimal supervision
  • You have a passion for social justice, art, and elevating the experiences of women and other marginalized communities
  • You might be a student looking for an internship, a community member with a passion for elevating local non-profits, or a chorus supporter looking for an alternative way to get involved

Requirements: 

  • Develop social media strategies & track engagement
  • Use chorus branding and materials to create artful, engaging material that aligns with our values as an organization on all platforms
  • Collaborate with artistic directors, applicable board members, and chorus committees to stay up to date on chorus events and goals
  • Generate interest & support for upcoming events, posting regularly
  • Attend chorus events to capture content as needed

Experience We Hope You Have:

  • Fluency with content creation tools (especially Canva)
  • Basic knowledge of audience engagement strategies and analytics
  • Confidence creating and posting content across multiple platforms (Facebook, TikTok, Instagram grid and reels)
  • Knowledge of current social media trends
  • Strong communication and time management skills
