Data Improvement Specialist

Job Title: Data Improvement Specialist 
Reports To: Senior Director of Data and Analytics
Location:  Lowell
Position Type: Non-Exempt; Full-Time 

 

OVERVIEW: 

Oversee the day-to-day compliance and training of Heading Home’s Rapid Shelter Track (RST) and Clinical & Safety Risk Assessment sites (CSR) in Lowell utilizing the Homeless Management Information System, ETO as well as ad-hoc external and internal data trackers to document and ensure quality of client data. The Data Improvement Specialist will act as a liaison within the organization to help facilitate data entry and ensure accuracy and quality control for all aspects of ETO and produce required reports.  

 

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Track and report accuracy and completeness of all Executive Office and Housing and Livable Communities RST and CSR required data elements and external data requirements through custom tracking and reporting
  • Meet with program staff to address current data collection protocols and program requirements
  • Provide technical and data entry support for RST and CSR staff
  • Identify trends in data errors and inconsistences with program staff for training purposes
  • Facilitate training workshops on an as-needed basis
  • Collaborate with the Senior Director of RST and CSR and the Senior Director of Data and Analytics to design and conduct periodic data audits
  • Complete independent projects and perform other duties as assigned

 

QUALIFICATIONS: 

  • Bachelor’s Degree
  • Proficiency in all Microsoft Office products (e.g. Excel)
  • Ability to convey detailed information, instructions and ideas accurately in writing and verbally to a wide range of colleagues with varying degrees of data expertise
  • Leadership skills with the ability to respond appropriately to various situations, make sound decisions and assist fellow team members, including members of other departments
  • Ability to define problems, collect data and information, establish facts and draw valid conclusions and/or interpret basic trends
  • Must be able to relate to persons of diverse backgrounds and functioning levels
  • Prior experience at a Human Services Agency or Non-Profit preferred but not required
