Transactional Legal Assistant

Our firm is seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Transactional Legal Assistant to join our team.

 

Job Overview:

As a Transactional Legal Assistant at Paesano Akkashian, you will support our attorneys in a variety of legal matters related to real estate transactions, securities law, and corporate governance. This role requires a high level of organization, attention to detail, and a general understanding of real estate and securities regulations. You will work closely with clients, attorneys, and third-party stakeholders to ensure the seamless execution of transactional matters.

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist with drafting, editing, and proofreading real estate and securities documents, including contracts, leases, purchase agreements, securities filings, and compliance documents.
  • Prepare and maintain closing binders, transaction files, and documentation for real estate and securities transactions.
  • Coordinate and manage the due diligence process for real estate acquisitions, financings, and securities offerings.
  • Liaise with clients, opposing counsel, title companies, and regulatory bodies to gather and exchange necessary documentation.
  • Manage calendar and deadlines for ongoing projects and ensure all necessary filings and documents are completed on time.
  • Maintain client confidentiality and demonstrate professionalism in all interactions.
  • Provide general administrative support to attorneys, including scheduling meetings, client communications, and managing office correspondence.

 

Qualifications:

  • Minimum of 1-3 years of experience as a legal assistant or paralegal in corporate governance, real estate and/or securities law.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to interact with clients and colleagues professionally.
  • Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and legal research tools.
  • Ability to work independently, as well as part of a team, in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong work ethic, proactive attitude, and a commitment to delivering high-quality work.

 

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with legal document management systems and e-filing.
  • Certification as a paralegal or legal assistant (e.g., NALA, NFPA) is a plus.
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in a related field.
