Financial Director III

We are looking for someone to fill our Director of Financial Analytics position based out of the Waterbury State Office Complex. This position manages the Analytics Unit within the DCF Business Office, which is composed of the Cost Allocation Plan team and the Budget Team. Core responsibilities of this position include creating the monthly financial monitoring reports for the department, overseeing the quarterly cost allocation and federal financial reporting, managing the annual budget data entry process, oversee the closeout revenue and expense reconciliation for the department, and act as the Deputy Business Office Director for the Department.
While this position is based out of Waterbury, there is opportunity for a hybrid (in office/remote) schedule. Some travel, mostly in state, may be required. Experience with cost allocation, fund accounting, federal reporting and knowledge of state financial bulletins and Guidance for Federal Financial Assistance is preferred. Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in accounting or a bachelor's degree in any discipline that includes or is supplemented by 20 credit hours in accounting and four (4) years of professional level accounting, budgeting, fiscal auditing, fiscal analysis, federal program fiscal administration or other professional level fiscal operations experience which has included managing a major fiscal program or operation.
OR
Master's degree in accounting, business or public administration or a related field AND three (3) years of professional level accounting, budgeting, fiscal auditing, fiscal analysis, federal program fiscal administration or other professional level fiscal operations experience including managing a major fiscal program or operation.
OR
Associate's degree AND seven (7) years or more of professional level accounting, budgeting, fiscal auditing, fiscal analysis, federal program fiscal administration or other professional level fiscal operations experience which has included experience managing programs, funding sources or staff.
OR
High School diploma AND nine (9) years or more of professional level accounting, budgeting, fiscal auditing, fiscal analysis, federal program fiscal administration or other professional level fiscal operations experience which has included experience managing programs, funding sources or staff.
OR
One (1) year or more of experience as a Financial Director II with the State of Vermont.
Note: For some positions preference may be given to applicants with experience managing large fiscal operations.
