Sterilization Microbiologist

Our client, a leader in the medical device industry, is seeking a Sterilization Microbiologist to join their team. As a Sterilization Microbiologist, you will be part of the Quality Assurance department supporting product development and manufacturing teams. The ideal candidate will have strong analytical skills, excellent communication abilities, and a proactive approach to problem-solving, which will align successfully in the organization.

Job Title: Sterilization Microbiologist

Location: Plymouth, MN

Pay Range: 35/HR -43/HR ON W2

What's the Job?

  • Perform sterilization validation for new and existing products utilizing Ethylene Oxide and/or Radiation sterilization, including comparative resistance studies and EO/ECH residual testing.
  • Support R&D for sterilization validation of new products and changes to existing products.
  • Provide product development teams with sterilization Subject Matter Expert support.
  • Evaluate the impact of Supplier Change Notifications on product bioburden, bacterial endotoxin, and sterilization.
  • Conduct investigations related to environmental monitoring, compressed air, bioburden, bacterial endotoxin, or sterilization as needed.

What's Needed?

  • Bachelor's degree in a related scientific field plus 5+ years of related work experience with a complete understanding of specified functional areas, or an equivalent combination of education and work experience.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of medical device manufacturing and sterilization processes.
  • In-depth knowledge of business unit functions and cross-group dependencies/relationships.
  • Strong project management skills with the ability to plan and organize assignments of substantial variety and complexity.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
