Interline Director

Organization: Indian Trails

Location: Owosso, MI

Pay Range: $80,000 - $85,000

 

 

Summary:

Indian Trails is seeking a proactive and relationship-driven Interline Director to lead our interline operations and represent our company in key industry partnerships. This high-impact role is ideal for someone with strong leadership skills, a passion for transportation, and the ability to build and maintain relationships with agency partners, public agencies, and national industry leaders.

 

Position Responsibilities:

  • Build and maintain strong relationships with agency partners and interline bus carriers
  • Represent Indian Trails in industry meetings, professional associations (including the National Bus Traffic Association), and public agency forums
  • Attend industry conferences and networking events to promote Indian Trails and stay informed on sector trends
  • Supervise the Interline Department, supporting staff in daily operations and long-term goals
  • Travel regularly to agency locations and interline partner sites
  • Identify and onboard new agency partners as needed
  • Oversee training and development of agency personnel on ticketing, reporting, and customer service standards
  • Manage ticketing technology installations and upgrades
  • Collaborate with internal operations teams and intercity bus partners to align schedules with service objectives
  • Ensure accurate agency financial reporting and policy compliance
  • Analyze and report key operational data such as passenger volumes and fare revenue

 

Qualifications:

  • Proven experience in a professional setting involving coordination, customer service, or administrative support
  • Prior experience in staff supervision and departmental leadership

 

Skills/Knowledge/Abilities (SKA) Required:

  • Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to build strong relationships across diverse partners and teams
  • Ability to represent the organization in meetings, conferences, and public forums in a leadership role
  • Strong organizational and time management skills; ability to balance multiple responsibilities and prioritize effectively
  • Willingness and ability to travel regularly for agency visits, partner meetings, and industry events
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint)
  • Solid computer skills and the ability to learn new systems quickly
  • Basic understanding of accounting and financial reporting preferred
  • A proactive, solutions-oriented mindset with attention to detail and follow-through
