Superintendent Intern
Florida Palm Construction (FPC) is a dynamic and scaling construction company based in South Florida. Since our founding in 2014, we’ve successfully managed projects ranging from $50,000 to $10 million across the Commercial, Government, and Specialty Residential sectors. We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Superintendent Intern to join our project team. This role offers hands-on field experience on active construction sites. The intern will work closely with our project Superintendent and gain exposure to the practical aspects of running a construction project, including schedule tracking, subcontractor coordination, quality assurance, compliance with safety and building standards and supporting FPC’s position as an employer of choice.

Key Responsibilities
Superintendent Intern:
- Assist the superintendent in maintaining the daily jobsite schedule, tracking progress, and pushing tasks to keep the project on time.
- Learn how to manage subcontractors on-site, monitor their work for quality and scope alignment, and help ensure tasks are completed according to schedule.
- Participate in reviewing construction plans, shop drawings, and specifications to confirm field work aligns with design intent.
- Assist in coordinating with city and county building inspectors.
- Learn how to prepare the site for inspections and support documentation needed to pass them.
- Help document daily jobsite progress, safety checklists, and field issues as needed. Learn best practices for field reporting.
- Practice construction safety protocols, OSHA guidelines, and general industry standards for quality construction practices.
- Attend internal & external handoff meetings as needed
- Maintain positive and professional relationships with clients, inspectors, architects, engineers, and municipal agencies.
- Collaborate in weekly team meetings and support open communication.
- Identify and resolve construction-related conflicts in a proactive manner.
- Travel to job sites as assigned to monitor progress and client satisfaction.
Work Environment:
- 100% field-based, outdoor and/or indoor at active construction job sites.
- May involve walking, standing, or lifting moderate loads up to 50 lbs.
- Regular collaboration with Superintendents, subcontractors and inspectors.
Qualifications & Skills
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Construction Management, or related field (preferred).
- Understanding of basic accounting principles and construction scheduling.
- Strong interest in field operations and jobsite experience.
- Basic understanding of construction drawings and terminology.
- Strong ability to learn processes and follow them.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Highly organized with the ability to multitask and meet deadlines.
- Strong interpersonal skills and a collaborative, problem-solving mindset.
- Willingness to work on active construction sites in varying weather conditions.
- Good communication/English skills.
- Good understanding of basic math.
- Must have a valid Florida Driver’s License with a good driving record.

Compensation
- Starting $18.00–$20.00 hourly based on experience and qualifications
- Seasonal position with the opportunity to develop into Full-Time.
- Monday–Friday, 8:00 AM – 4:30 PM
