Dean of Students

Job Description:  The School District of Baraboo is seeking candidates for a full-time Dean of Students that will support West Kindergarten Center to begin with the 2025-2026 school year. Approximate start date is August 18th, 2025. Ideal candidates will be able to successfully collaborate and effectively build relationships with students, parents and staff. This position holds a 199-working day contract with benefits.  
 

Qualifications:  Candidates should possess a current Wisconsin Department of Public Instruction License: #7061 Dean of Students, #5003 District Administrator, #5006 Asst Dist. Administrator, #5010 Director of Instruction, #5017 Reading Specialist, #5051 Principal, #5080 Director of Sped & Pupil Services, #5091 Instructional Library Media Supervisor, #5092 Instructional Technology Coordinator, #7062 School Psychologist, #7054 School Counselor or #7050 School Social Worker. Candidates should also have 3+ years of experience in classroom management.

 

The Dean of Students will lead and implement schoolwide Restorative Practices and Positive Behavioral Interventions and Supports (PBIS) systems, leading engagement response systems/strategies, engaging with on-call behavior support, using data to guide decision making, communicating with students, staff and families in ways that are culturally sensitive and responsive. Candidates should have knowledge of eduClimber or have the willingness to learn about eduClimber capabilities.
 

Qualified candidates will work in a collaborative environment to develop and strengthen social, emotional, and behavioral skills of students and families. Candidates must demonstrate excellent written and verbal communication skills, be highly organized, have intimate knowledge of best practices within the field of emotional behavioral functioning, Positive Behavioral Interventions and Supports (PBIS) and Multi-Layered System of Supports (MLSS). Candidates must demonstrate a positive attitude, have successful experience implementing differentiated instruction and inclusive practices, implementing effective teaching strategies, fostering equity in the classroom, developing positive home/school relationships with diverse family structures, collaborating in a team setting and demonstrating the willingness for professional growth. Candidates must be able to effectively assist the administration in providing student supervision in the school as well as maintain accurate data related to attendance, referrals, disciplinary actions and monitor intervention progress and goal attainment.

District Description:  The School District of Baraboo is an EC-12 grade district with a 4K program, five elementary schools, one middle school, and one high school with a total student population of 2,700 students.  The District employs approximately 255 certified teachers and 175 non-certified staff.  Baraboo is located in Sauk County and is among the most scenic areas in the state!
