HR Intern

Job Functions:  

This position is responsible for performing HR-related administrative duties and works closely with HR team in supporting execution of department and company objectives. The HR Intern will thrive in a team environment, possess a high degree of initiative, exercise good judgement and diplomacy, and manage sensitive and confidential information appropriately with a high level of discretion.

Accountabilities:

  • Assist in Application Process & Screenings
  • Coordinate Organization of Company Events
  • Assist with New Hire Orientation Set Up
  • Assist with Career Fairs
  • Assist with HR Projects
  • Assist with Employee Training Program
  • Record retention and filing
  • Assist with the Employee Recognition Program

Other Job Duties: 

  • Assists with the application process including scheduling and coordinating interviews and sending follow up correspondence
  • Completes and processes new hire and termination paperwork and updates logs associated with new hires and terms
  • Updates I-9 binders
  • Assists with recordkeeping and filing responsibilities as related to benefits
  • Assists with the planning, organizing and execution of corporate events on site
  • Assists with coordinating and planning New Hire Orientation
  • Assist and attend career fairs on behalf of the company
  • Assist in the facilitation of the company's training programs and initiatives
  • Assists with the employee recognition program
  • Completes scanning employee file information
  • Assists with mail distribution
  • Assists Administrative Assistant with job duties as needed
  • Assists Human Resources Department with projects
  • All other duties as assigned

Education and/or Experience: High School Diploma or equivalent. Must be enrolled in University or Community College degree program, preferably Business or Human Resources. Prefer minimum of six months related experience or equivalent combination of skills, training or experience.

Computer Skills:

Must be able to use Microsoft Office Suite, Outlook, HRIS, and Office 365.

Language Skills:

Must be able to speak, read, and write English and have strong written and verbal communication skills.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is required to do the following activities:

  • Sitting for long periods frequently/daily.
  • Work on a computer for up to 8 hours frequently/daily.
  • Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.
  • Standing and walking frequently/daily.
  • Lifting up to10 lbs on a frequent basis and up to 25 lbs on an occasional basis.
  • Use hands to finger, handle, or feel; and talk or hear occasionally. Required to reach with hands and arms.

Typical office environment. Physical presence is required for this position.
