Are you passionate about making a difference? Do you love planning and promoting events that matter? The Williams Agency invites motivated students to gain real-world experience at the intersection of marketing, events, and social impact.
We’re an award-winning, full-service marketing, public relations, and event planning firm specializing in branding, grassroots marketing, and the promotion of cause-based events. Our work focuses on local food, sustainability, culture, and the arts—supporting a variety of nonprofit and for-profit clients.
We’re currently producing the 31st Annual Cambridge Carnival (September), SpicetoberFest (October), Boston JerkFest, the Boston Hot Sauce Festival, and more. Our agency also supports nonprofit organizations including Cambridge Carnival International and Sustainable Food & Culture, Inc.
This internship is ideal for undergraduate juniors, seniors, or graduate students pursuing careers in marketing, communications, event planning, hospitality, public relations, or nonprofit management.
Responsibilities include
- Assist with long-term and day-to-day event planning
- Attend team and client meetings to observe decision-making processes
- Learn logistics, vendor management, sponsorship development, volunteer coordination, and PR strategy
- Support marketing campaigns across social media, email, and digital platforms
- Track marketing metrics, social media insights, and media impressions
- Conduct pre- and post-event analysis and reporting
- Participate in project debriefing to identify successes and improvements
Desired Skills
- Strong written and verbal communication
- Passion for social causes, arts, culture, or sustainability
- Experience in event planning or hospitality
- Organized, detail-oriented, and professional demeanor
- Ability to take initiative, meet fast deadlines, and problem solve in high pressure situations
- Proficiency with Google Suite, Canva, and social media platforms (Facebook, Instagram, X, TikTok, LinkedIn)
- Experience with Hootsuite and/or managing a long-term social media calendar on multiple platforms
- Experience with Mailchimp, Formstack, and Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, InDesign)
- Experience with web design a plus
- A driver’s license and access to a car is helpful but not required
- Flexible schedule: some weekend and evening hours will be required for in-person outreach and event attendance
Internship Details
Internship Terms Available: Fall, Spring, and Summer
Time Commitment: 20–40 hours/week
Format: In-person or hybrid (Cambridge, MA)
Compensation: College credit or paid
