Business & Policy Intern
Company Background
Founded by Nate Walton ’08, Sachem Strategies is a consulting firm that advises small/mid-sized companies on government relations and business strategy. The firm’s client base is primarily in the defense, finance, and energy sectors.
Since 2016, Sachem has hosted interns who have made significant contributions to the firm and its clients. Interns have worked on a variety of projects, including prospective client research, analysis on market developments, and assisting with visits by senior government and business leaders. Through this experience, all of them have gained a significant understanding of a variety of issues relating to politics and business and have been a crucial part of the company's work.
Internship Details
We are looking for interested students from all majors/backgrounds; however, it is helpful to have a basic understanding of current events in U.S./global politics and a basic familiarity with how Congress functions. Given the firm’s size, our interns are an integral part of the team, and their work products are often seen directly by clients and government stakeholders. As a result, we seek someone who not only wants to work hard - but who also enjoys working in a small team environment and making a meaningful impact each and every day. This means the ideal candidate is someone who thinks outside the box and is ready to make an impact from day one.
This internship will be a hybrid of in-person and remote work. If applicants are located in the Boston area, the goal is to have interns work in-person some days at our location (The Engine, Cambridge MA).
Applicants should be prepared to work in a collaborative environment while also being able to complete autonomous projects. Sachem prides itself on its ability to think critically and creativity about the work that we do, and we’re looking for an intern who's excited to embody that spirit.
This internship will run through the Fall 2025 semester.
