JOB SUMMARY: The Technical Writer is responsible for developing and maintaining clear technical documentation to support a variety of users. This position works closely with engineering experts to ensure all technical content is accurate, accessible, and up to date.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
1. Develops, writes, and maintains high-quality technical documentation, including user manuals, system guides, API documentation, technical specifications, troubleshooting guides, and release notes.
2. Collaborates with engineering teams to gather, organize, and understand complex technical content and translate it into clear, user-friendly documents.
3. Reviews and edits existing documentation for accuracy, consistency, clarity, and usability. 4. Works with subject matter experts to ensure that documentation reflects the latest product developments, features, and engineering practices.
5. Creates and manages content for internal knowledge bases, FAQs, and help portals.
6. Designs and structures documentation to meet the needs of different audiences, such as developers, engineers, end users, and project managers.
7. Ensures documentation adheres to company standards, branding guidelines, and industry best practices. 8. Maintains version control of all technical documents to ensure accurate and current information is accessible.
9. Continuously improves documentation processes and identifies opportunities to streamline content creation and distribution.
10. Provides support to cross-functional teams to ensure documentation is comprehensive, accessible, and up to date.
11. Performs other duties as assigned.
JOB QUALIFICATIONS
Education: Bachelor's degree in Technical Writing, Engineering, or related field.
Experience: Minimum of two years’ experience in technical writing, drafting, or design. Skills: Proven experience in technical writing, preferably in a software or engineering environment. Strong written and verbal communication skills. Ability to quickly grasp complex technical concepts and make them easily understandable. Proficiency in Microsoft Office and documentation tools. Detail-oriented with excellent organizational skills.
