Fall 2025 Human Resources Intern

The Position 

The National Women’s Law Center (NWLC) seeks a part-time undergraduate or graduate student intern for fall 2025 to assist the Human Resources team with a variety of projects which may include employee file and data management, recruitment, policy evaluation and development, and performance evaluation.  

Applicants must be enrolled in a degree program and eligible for academic credit. Hours and dates worked may vary depending on school requirements. This work may be done hybrid or in-person.

Duties and Responsibilities  

The intern will: 

  • Develop an understanding of the components of an employee file and assist with a filing and digitization project; 
  • Review existing and developing policies and procedures and provide interpretation and insight; 
  • Support project to review and edit job descriptions for all positions in the organization; 
  • Assist with recruitment including review of job descriptions, development of interview questions, and communication with applicants; and 
  • Miscellaneous duties as assigned. 

 

Qualifications: 

  • Current enrollment in an undergraduate or graduate degree program in human resources, business, psychology, nonprofit management, or a related field, and ability to receive academic credit for the internship; 
  • Strong research and writing skills, including excellent analytical, oral, and written communications skills; 
  • Excellent knowledge of and comfort with technology, including MS Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint).  Ideal experience would also include SharePoint, database work, Asana, ADP or other HRIS system, Slack;  
  • Demonstrated experience and judgment working both collaboratively and independently; 
  • Flexibility, creativity, and initiative along with excellent organizational, planning, and project management skills; 
  • High level of discretion and ability to maintain confidentiality when handling sensitive information;  
  • Interest in pursuing a career in human resources; and  
  • Experience or interest working in an intersectional gender justice organization. 


Key Relations  

The intern will report to the Senior Manager for Talent but will work closely with the Senior HR Generalist, the HR Generalist, and the VP for HR and Labor Relations. The intern may collaborate with other teams and individuals across the law center. 

 

Compensation & Benefits 

This internship is unpaid, but the Center will work with the intern to secure academic credit. A stipend of $175 per month, prorated, will be provided if allowed by the intern’s school. This position is not eligible for benefits.  

 

Classification 

This position is not included in the union-represented bargaining unit, NWLC United, affiliated with the Nonprofit Professional Employees Union/IFPTE Local 70.
