Project Analyst Intern

Job Description:

 

As a Project Analyst Intern, you will support the project management team in tracking, analyzing, and reporting project activities. You will assist in organizing project data, preparing documentation, and ensuring tasks align with project goals and deadlines. This is an excellent opportunity for a student or recent graduate interested in project management, engineering operations, or data analysis.

 

Key Responsibilities:

 

  • Project Scheduling & Tracking - Assist in developing and maintaining project schedules, trackers, and reports using tools such as Microsoft Project, Excel, or Jira.
  • Milestone Monitoring - Track key project milestones and proactively follow up on upcoming tasks to ensure timely progress.
  •  Status Reporting - Prepare and update weekly or bi-weekly status reports for leadership and clients, summarizing key accomplishments, issues, and next steps.
  • PMO Newsletter Management - Draft, compile, and publish a bi-weekly PMO newsletter; track engagement metrics and recommend content or design improvements.
  • Research & Analysis - Conduct research and data analysis to support project planning and decision-making.
  • Meeting Support - Prepare meeting agendas, take detailed notes, and summarize key discussion points and action items; assist with presentation materials as needed.
  • Progress Monitoring - Monitor project deliverables and milestones; report on progress and highlight any variances from plan.
  • Risk & Issue Tracking - Assist in identifying project risks and tracking issues; support mitigation planning and documentation.
  • Communication Support - Facilitate communication among internal teams, external contractors, and clients to keep everyone aligned and informed.
  • Document Management - Help manage and maintain project documentation, including contracts, permits, compliance records, and meeting logs.
  • Team Collaboration - Actively participate in team meetings and contribute suggestions for process improvements, efficiency, and collaboration.

 

Required Qualifications

  • Currently pursuing or recently completed a degree in Engineering Management, Business, Information Systems, Public Administration or a related field
  • Strong organizational, problem solving and communication skills
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, PowerPoint, Word); experience with Microsoft Project or Smartsheet a plus
  • Exposure to tools like Jira, Canva and SharePoint is a plus
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a professional setting interest in infrastructure, construction, or engineering projects preferred
  • Comfortable working in both field and shop environments.
  • Open to mentorship and eager to develop professionally.

 

Additional Requirements

  • Must be a U.S. Citizen or green card holder.
  • Valid driver’s license, ability to travel regionally and internationally (passport required).
  • Must be able to obtain required security clearances.
  • Successful completion of background check and drug screening.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with high attention to detail.
