Association Director
Association Director (or Executive Director, commensurate with experience)
Location: Geneva, New York
Hours: Full-time, 35–40 hours/week
Compensation: $28–$35/hour, based on experience and qualifications
Start Date: As soon as filled

About the Role
We are seeking a dynamic, mission-driven Association Director to lead the daily operations of the organization and support the continued growth of our programs, partnerships, and community engagement. This position serves as the Chief Administrative Officer (CAO), working closely with the Board of Directors, committees, volunteers, donors, and local stakeholders.
Candidates with significant leadership experience, fundraising expertise, and strategic planning skills may be considered for the Executive Director title and scope of responsibilities.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage day-to-day operations of the Association in alignment with Board priorities
- Represent the organization at public events, community forums, and partner meetings
- Lead donor and membership communications, including renewal campaigns and acknowledgments
- Coordinate volunteers and collaborate with committees to support key programs
- Manage grant applications and reporting
- Oversee content creation for newsletters, website, and social media
- Support financial tracking and reporting in collaboration with the Board Treasurer
- Maintain strong organizational systems and clear communication with stakeholders
- (Executive Director-level candidates will also lead strategic planning, donor cultivation, and represent the Association at the regional or state level)
- Carry out other duties as assigned
Qualifications
Required:
- Bachelor’s degree
- At least 3 years of relevant experience (nonprofit, education, advocacy, public service) in the environmental or natural resources-related field
- Familiarity with Seneca Lake or similar watershed conservation work
- Strong communication, organization, and time management skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a small team
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, Google Workspace, and general digital tools
- Valid driver’s license and access to transportation
- Willingness to work occasional evenings and weekends
Preferred (for Executive Director title consideration):
- 5+ years of nonprofit leadership, particularly in development and program management, in the environmental or natural resources-related field
- Demonstrated success in grant writing, donor development, or strategic partnerships
- Experience supervising staff, interns, or volunteers
