Workforce Development Administrative Assistant

Position Summary: As part of a new workforce development partnership with the James L. Maher Center, Lucy’s Hearth is offering a supported placement opportunity for individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities. This part-time administrative assistant role offers structured, skill-building tasks that contribute meaningfully to daily operations while supporting personal growth and independence. This placement is ideal for someone who enjoys working in an office environment, supporting basic administrative and organizational tasks. Participants will be matched with responsibilities that align with their skills and will receive guidance and supervision from Lucy’s Hearth staff and their Maher Center support team.

Qualifications:

  • Willingness to learn and contribute to a team
  • Friendly, respectful, and dependable
  • Interest in developing basic workplace and communication skills
  • Ability to follow directions and routines with support

Physical Requirements: This position requires community visits. Employees in this position must have the ability to:  

  • Ability to move within the building and use stairs if needed
  • Ability to lift or carry up to 20 lbs. with assistance if required
  • Ability to communicate effectively with staff and residents.

Compensation This is a grant-supported placement with a stipend provided for time worked, equivalent to minimum wage.

Commitment 2-3 days per week (schedule set collaboratively)
