Human Resources and Administration Internship
NAMI Georgia is seeking an enthusiastic, committed, and skillful individual who is dedicated to the organization’s mission of promoting recovery and optimizing the quality of life for Georgians with mental illness and their families through support, education, and advocacy.
Summary: The HR internship consists of administrative tasks and supporting daily activities, such as updating employee records, screening resumes, scheduling interviews, and gaining exposure to various HR functions like payroll, recruitment, and employee development.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following:
· Updating employee databases
· Gathering payroll data
· Screening resumes
· Scheduling interviews
· Posting job ads
· Assisting with HR-related reports and employee queries
· Providing administrative support to the HR department
· Handling benefits for employees
· Assisting with training and development initiatives
· Standardizing Employee filing system
· Participate in audits and compliance reviews by providing documentation, conducting research, and assisting with audit preparations.
· Support finance team members in ad-hoc projects, special assignments, and process improvements to enhance efficiency and effectiveness.
· Provide administrative support to finance team members, such as organizing files physically or electronically, and handling correspondence.
· Research and implement Workplace Certification program.
Qualifications:
· Currently enrolled in a bachelor's or master's degree program in finance, accounting, economics, public policy, or a related field.
· Strong academic background with coursework in financial accounting, managerial finance, and financial analysis.
· Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including formulas, functions, and data analysis tools.
· Analytical mindset with the ability to interpret financial data, analyze trends, and draw meaningful insights.
· Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
· Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities.
· Enthusiasm for learning and willingness to take on new challenges and responsibilities.
· Familiarity with HR and financial software systems (e.g., ADP, BambooHR, QuickBooks) is a plus.
· Previous internship experience in finance, accounting, or related fields is preferred but not required.
