Middle School Science Teacher

Middle School Science Teacher (Full-Time or Part-Time)
Clintonville Academy – Columbus, OH

Position Start Date: 2025–26 School Year

Clintonville Academy, a dynamic private school serving Pre-K through Grade 8, seeks a passionate and versatile middle school educator to join our faculty. We currently have an opening for a 6th–8th grade Science teacher. This can be a part-time position focused solely on science instruction or a full-time role for candidates willing to teach an additional subject area (such as Language Arts, Social Studies, or another area of strength) or take on other responsibilities aligned with school needs.

Our middle school team is collaborative, flexible, and dedicated to student success. We are looking for a teammate who values both strong academics and character development and who is eager to make a meaningful impact in a small-school setting.

Key Responsibilities:

Instruction & Curriculum

  • Deliver engaging, student-centered science lessons aligned with our curriculum and standards.
  • Adapt instruction to meet a range of learning styles and abilities.
  • Incorporate hands-on learning, experimentation, and cross-curricular connections.
  • Teach an additional subject or assume other responsibilities if applying for a full-time position.

Classroom & Student Management

  • Build a respectful, inclusive, and supportive classroom environment.
  • Use effective classroom management strategies to ensure student engagement.
  • Assess student learning and provide constructive feedback.

Collaboration & Professional Growth

  • Work closely with the middle school team and administration to support student learning.
  • Participate in faculty meetings, school events, and professional development opportunities.
  • Communicate proactively with parents and caregivers to build strong partnerships.

School & Community Involvement

  • Participate in school events and contribute to the broader school community.
  • Uphold Clintonville Academy’s mission, vision, and core values in daily interactions.

 

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in education or a related field (Science background strongly preferred).
  • Valid teaching license or willingness to pursue alternative certification.
  • Middle school, high school, or upper elementary teaching experience preferred.
  • Passion for student learning, character development, and innovation in education.
  • Willingness to be flexible and take on multiple roles in a small-school environment.
