Business Technology Consultant

REPORTS TO: Vice President of Sales


 

JOB SUMMARY

This person is responsible for selling to existing and prospective clients through a relationship-based, consultative approach. Makes professional presentations, selling products, services, and software solutions.


 

JOB QUALIFICATIONS

Experience: Participates in sales and product training and gains necessary knowledge and certificates to effectively and professionally market WCC Business Solutions products and solutions.

Skills:

· Strong Computer skills

· Strong Communication skills, both verbal and written

· Uses appropriate selling techniques and approaches with people from different levels, positions and backgrounds.

· Uses appropriate techniques and approaches to overcome resistance and complaints.

· Influences people to support progress in the sales process.

· Ties the benefits of products and services to the individual’s and organization’s needs and goals.

· Listens well and uses the information to seek additional and more in-depth information from the prospect.

· Suggests the next logical step in the sales process.

· Uses appropriate follow-up techniques.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

The responsibilities for this job include the following:

· Establishes, develops and maintains business relationships with current and prospective clients in the assigned territory to generate new business for WCC Business Solutions products and solutions.

· Makes telephone calls and in-person visits to existing and prospective customers.

· Researches sources for developing prospective clients and for information to determine their potential.

· Effectively demonstrate solutions and hardware.

· Develops clear and effective written proposals/quotations for current and prospective customers.

· Expedites the resolution of customer problems and complaints.

· Coordinates sales effort with sales management, accounting, logistics and technical service groups.


 

· Meets or exceeds monthly quotas.

· Completes all necessary paperwork, following WCC Business Solutions Sales Checklist.

· Analyzes the territory/market’s potential and determines the value of existing and prospective client’s value to WCC Business Solutions.

· Creates and manages a customer list with Soaring (CRM).

· Develops pipeline and forecasts sales for specified time periods.

· Identifies advantages of WCC Business Solutions and compares organization’s products/services with competition.

· Plans and organizes personal sales strategy and present weekly to management.

· Supplies management with oral and written weekly reports on customer needs, problems, interests, competitive activities, and potential for new products and services.

· Keeps abreast of product applications, technical services, market conditions, competitive activities, advertising and promotional trends through the reading of pertinent literature and consulting with marketing and technical service areas.


 

ESSENTIAL PHYSICAL-MENTAL FUNCTIONS & ENVIRONMENTAL CONDITIONS

· Able to effectively verbally communicate with customer base of internal and external customers

· Able to properly lift and/or move 25lbs. occasionally; up to 5 lbs. frequently. The highest point of any lift – overhead; the lowest point of any lift – the floor.

· Able to sit continuously, up to 8 hours per day.

· Must be able to manipulate small objects with close hand-eye and arm-hand coordination for entire shift.

· Able to perform motor skills such as grasping, finger manipulation, pinching, bending, reaching out, twisting, turning, reaching up, wrist running/torqueing continuously for entire shift.

· Able to see objects closely, discriminate colors, perceive depth continuously.

· Able to remember multiple tasks/assignments given to self and others over long periods of time continuously.
